By Joe Dietz, Director of Operations, Downtown Clubhouse
Spring is always an energizing time at the Downtown Clubhouse, and this year is no exception. As we move through March and into April, we’re seeing a strong mix of activity from game-day crowds to some of our most anticipated social and ballroom events.
With so much happening across St. Louis, the Club continues to serve as a central gathering place for members. Recent weeks brought great energy downtown with the NCAA Tournament, volleyball events at the Dome, and the start of both Cardinals and Battlehawks seasons. It’s been great to see members making the most of the Club before and after games.

For those heading to CITY SC, Blues, or Cardinals games, the MAC Shuttle remains one of the easiest ways to get to and from the action. If you haven’t taken advantage of it yet, I’d highly recommend it. We’ve also seen the Jack Buck Grille become a natural pre- and post-game spot, whether for a quick drink, a meal, or simply connecting with fellow members.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to once again host the USBWA College Basketball Awards in April. It’s always a standout event on our calendar and a great opportunity to welcome guests into the Club.

This season also brings several of our most meaningful member traditions. The Missouri Room will host Easter Brunch, Mother’s Day Brunch, and the Father-Daughter Dance – events that continue to be special for many families year after year. Alongside these, the ballroom will be active with proms, weddings, and private events, in addition to the Club Election in May. It’s always great to see membership come together for these moments.
Behind the scenes, our focus remains on delivering a consistent, high-quality experience across the Club. Our catering and hospitality teams are working to ensure every visit, whether dining, attending an event, or stopping in briefly, feels welcoming and well-executed. Members will also begin to see some enhancements within the Jack Buck Grille and Sportsman’s Club, with continued attention to both offerings and service.
We’re also pleased to welcome Brandon Jennings as our new Food and Beverage Manager at the Downtown Clubhouse, along with several new team members who bring strong private club experience. As a team, they are undergoing additional hospitality training to continue elevating the level of service our members expect.
Coming Soon: Keep an eye out for updates on the debut of the Art Lounge bar!
As always, thank you for your continued engagement with the Club. We look forward to seeing you downtown this spring.
