City, Dining, and Country Club FAQs

The Missouri Athletic Club is a private club with locations in downtown St. Louis, West St. Louis County, and Clayton. Members enjoy a wide range of offerings, including racquet sports, swimming, basketball, golf, fitness, practice facilities, massage and wellness services, family and youth activities, distinctive dining venues, social events, professional gatherings, and special interest groups, including the MAC Clubs Within the Club.

Membership is by invitation. Each membership is family-based, extending use of the Club’s facilities to the Member, spouse or domestic partner, and dependent children under the age of 25. Full access is granted at all Clubhouses in St. Louis, open seven days a week.

Membership categories—Resident, Junior, Non-Resident, or Associate—are determined by age or residence, with benefit levels tailored to individual needs.

As membership continues to grow, demand may necessitate the introduction of a wait list. Early inquiry is encouraged.

Yes. Monthly fees and monthly dues are combined into one cost, determined by the type of membership.

No. One membership provides access to all locations, including Downtown St. Louis, West St. Louis County, and Clayton.

Yes. Each nominee must be proposed and seconded by current voting Members in good standing.

Yes. The À La Carte membership serves as the Club’s version of a social member, offering access to the dining rooms, participation in Clubs Within the Club, and the opportunity to attend social events throughout the year.

No. The Missouri Athletic Club does not offer corporate memberships.

No contract is required. Unlike many country club memberships, the Missouri Athletic Club membership is structured month-to-month, with the bylaws requiring 30 days’ notice for resignation.

Yes. Inviting family members and guests to share in the distinguished experiences a world-class Club offers is an important part of membership, from dining and social events to a variety of Club amenities. Guests may enjoy use of the swimming pool, fitness center, pickleball and tennis courts, and other facilities for a fee of $12 per guest per day. All guests must be accompanied by a member.

The Missouri Athletic Club is an athletic club with the distinguished character of both a city and a private country club setting. An initiation fee is required of all Members and is non-refundable, ensuring equality and consistency in the membership process. Each membership fee contributes to the ongoing enhancement of every Clubhouse, supporting continual improvements to facilities and services.

Only two assessments have been conducted in the last 20 years, including one that funded the 1903 Bar at the West Clubhouse. Future assessments, if necessary, would be proposed and voted upon by the Board of Governors.

Nominees complete an application and must be proposed and seconded by current voting Members in good standing. Nominations are reviewed monthly by the Board of Governors, which extends invitations to approved candidates. Upon approval, a Member number is issued for immediate use of the Club.

Facilities may be enjoyed immediately upon receipt of a Member number.
The Board of Governors consists of 15 Members elected to oversee the property, affairs, and business of the Club. Each Governor serves a three-year term, with five elected annually.
Dress code standards vary by Clubhouse and area. Overall, business casual attire is required.

Yes. Childcare is offered at the West Clubhouse during designated hours, providing families across STL with reliable support while using Club facilities. Supervised by experienced staff, children enjoy games, building activities, crafts, and a variety of toys. Childcare is available six days a week at the following rates: $5 per hour for the first child, $3 per hour for the second, and $2 per hour for each additional child.

Members enjoy guest privileges at regional partner golf clubs, where tee times may be reserved and applicable greens fees and incidentals are billed directly to the Member’s account. Many partner venues provide a driving range and pro shop services, ensuring every golfer has access to the resources needed for an exceptional experience.

No separate golf membership is required. Golf access follows partner golf club policies and availability, with expanded privileges available for Diamond Club Members.
The Missouri Athletic Club’s Golf Club organizes league play, travel outings, and coordinated rounds of golf at notable championship golf courses through partner relationships.
Yes. More than 75 boutique-style guest rooms are available for the convenience of Members and guests. Accommodations combine historic character with modern comfort, complemented by access to dining and wellness amenities in the heart of St. Louis.
