Dress Code and Policies

One of the factors that makes the Missouri Athletic Club a Platinum Club of America and a premier club in the region are our high standards, including our dress code.

The Board of Governors and Club Management welcome you to the Missouri Athletic Club.  In the spirit of excellence, service, and tradition, all members and guests are expected to uphold and maintain the Club’s reputation as the foremost private Club in St. Louis by conforming to this Dress Code and Cell Phone Policy (“Policy”).  Adhering to and respecting this Policy will contribute to the Club’s mission of creating extraordinary experiences in all aspects of Club life.

Members and guests will be denied access to the Club’s public rooms if they do not comply with this Policy.  Please be courteous and respectful in cooperating with Club staff and members as they support this Policy. 
 

Dress Code Guidelines for Members and Guests 12 Years & Older:


Business Attire: A suit, dress shirt (tie preferred) or sport coat/blazer, collared dress shirt, slacks for men. Dresses, suits, pant suits or blazer and slacks for women.  Appropriate military uniforms and clerical attire.
 
Casual Attire: Slacks, blue jeans and walking shorts. Collared shirts, including Polo shirts, turtle necks and sweaters.

Private Meeting Rooms
Main Lobby

Game Day Attire:  Exception for Game Days:  Cardinals, Blues, St. Louis City soccer, and local collegiate events at local stadiums/arenas (i.e., the Dome, Enterprise, Centene, and Chaifetz), and for other events as may be designated by the Board from time to time.  Fan and casual attire is permitted on all Game Days, except shirts should be worn underneath any sleeveless jersey, ball caps are permitted to be worn in the Lobby and Jack Buck Grille ONLY,  and cut-off shorts/shirts are not permitted for men or women.
 
Athletic Wear: Colored workout clothing may be worn. For laundering, colored performance materials are accepted. Cottons must be white or gray. Athletic wear is NOT permitted in the Lobby of the Downtown Clubhouse. Members and guests entering the clubhouse in athletic wear may only use the Lucas entrance and north elevator located in the rear of the building.
 
Apparel NOT permitted:
Cut-off shorts/shirts
Athletic Tee shirts (except on Game Days)
Tank/tube/halter tops
Ball caps (except on Game Days)
Overalls / work clothes
Bare midriff garments
Swim wear or workout wear (except on 5th floor only)
 

 
Persons violating this Policy may be asked to leave the Clubhouse.

Dress Code Guidelines for Members and Guests 12 Years & Older:

 
Club Casual is described for men as sport coats or golf / collared shirts and or sweaters / vests, dress slacks or dress blue jeans, and shorts adhering to current golf course type regulations. Club Casual is described for ladies as pant suits, jackets or golf / dress shirts and or sweaters / vests, dress slacks or dress blue jeans, skirts or dresses, and shorts adhering to current golf course type regulations.
 
Athletic Facility Dress Code: Colored attire may be worn in all athletic facilities. For locker-holding members using the Club laundry service, colored performance materials are permitted. Cottons must be white or gray. Soft soled shoes are required. No black soled shoes are allowed on the courts.

Absolutely no one under the age of 18 is allowed in the 1903 Bar or on the patio at any time.

 
Persons violating this Policy may be asked to leave the Clubhouse.
 

Cell Phone Policy:
 

  • All cellular phones and other electronic devices must be set to silent mode in the Clubhouses.
  • A member or guest may use a cellular or mobile telephone or other mobile telephone or electronic device to text message, search the internet, review emails and the like, provided that proper decorum is followed.
  • Cellular phones and electronic devices may be used for outgoing or incoming calls only in areas designated by the Board of Governors. Audible device activity prohibited may include, but is not limited to ringing, music, speakerphone, FaceTime, or mobile application sound.
  • In other areas of the Clubhouses a member or a guest may receive a silent call and may respond to it in a brief, quiet fashion, not exceeding 30 seconds.
  • The taking of photographs or videos in locker rooms, fitness centers, restrooms, and pool area, is prohibited without prior consent of Club Management.
  • It remains important that all members are respectful of fellow members and guests when visiting the Downtown or West Clubhouses.
  • Violations may result in suspension of club privileges.
